1) 127 Hours (2010)

The movie 127 Hours tells the true story of a mountain climber Aron Ralston's remarkable adventure to save himself after getting trapped in a canyon with a boulder upon his arms. Aron's story proves what we can do once we choose life. Director Danny Boyle transformed Aron's survival story into a heart-pounding gem and backed by an exquisite performance from James Franco.


2) Dangal (2016)

Dangal is among the highest grossed movies of Bollywood. It is the story of Phogat Girls and their father Mahavir Singh Phogat, a former Indian National wrestling champion from Haryana who trains his daughters Geeta and Babita to become the world-class wrestlers. Kudos to Amir Khan for the performance to be remembered for a lifetime.


3) Pursuit Of Happyness (2006).

Known as one of the best classic movie of all time, it is the story of Chris Gardner's one year struggle with homelessness alongside his son and how he became a stockbroker. Will Smith as Chris and Jaden as his son has touched audiences with their performances. An emotional and ultimately uplifting movie about believing in your dreams and doing something about it.


4) Paan Singh Tomar (2012)

This movie is a tribute to an Indian Army soldier, Paan Singh Tomar who was a seven-time national champion athlete and later became a rebel. The role of Paan Singh Tomar was portrayed flawlessly by Irfan Khan and acclaimed him with the National Award.


5) Into The Wild (2007)

Into the Wild is a fantastic movie adaptation of the book about Christopher McCandless, a man who abandons his life in search of spiritual knowledge and communion with nature. Emile Hirsch brought life to the adventure that is all about appreciating life. This movie is great "travel" story with good performances and cinematography. 


6) The Dirty Picture (2010)

The Dirty Picture is all about complete entertainment. It defines the life of Silk Smitha, a South Indian actress known as the queen of sensuality in South Indian movies. This movie narrates very well how Silk struggled to achieve stardom and then went through a downfall. And Vidya Balan's fearless portrayal of Silk is bold and realistic in the movie.

7) Lion (2016)

Lion is a truly miraculous story of Saroo Brierley who gets lost from his family at the age of five in Kolkatta and later gets adopted by a couple in Tasmania. After 25 years, he finds his family back by remembering and retracing his steps using Google Earth. Dev Patel and other cast have performed vibrantly in this movie.


8) Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013)

Award-winning filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra beautifully crafted biopic of none other the Olympic legend of India, Milkha Singh. Acclaimed Farah Khan went to the core of Milkha and did complete justice to his role. This movie is one of the best sports drama of all time and inspiration to sports player.
