Adhiraj is an independent musician and music entrepreneur. While being exposed to music at an early age, he has had no formal training. He says "While growing up, music was a really serious hobby. Serious but a hobby none the less. It was easy to get distracted by stuff like school and sports. After going through the usual college and job routine, I had to take a look at what I was doing and why. That's when I decided to dedicate my efforts to being a student of the drums."
Adhiraj performed as full-time drummer with Level 9 (2003 to 2008) & HFT (2005-2006). He would also do a few freelance assignments here and there. In 2008, he started "Blue Breakfast", comprising Gaurav Chintamani on Guitars and Abhishek Mangla on Bass. The first few gigs were a short tour of Nepal, playing at The Sundance Festival (The Last Resort, Nepal) and 3 clubs in Kathmandu.
Adhiraj founded Prospect in 2003 to promote a music industry in India, which has a rich cultural heritage (classical and folk), and a huge film music industry, but a nascent and evolving contemporary music envionment . The company, now known as Prospect Advisory & Management, went on to create the AT HOME Concerts, India's first professional concert platfom dedicated to promoting contemporary original music. More recently, Prospect pioneered and hosted the country's largest music festival - Eastwind. Eastwind saw 60 bands performing over three days, and was easily one of the more ambitious and well regarded music projects in India's musical history.
Adhiraj is Managing Director of Prospect, and in his own words says, "Prospect as a business model promotes partnerships based on skill. I am a musician and love to promote meaningful initiatives that have to do with music, especially if they make a significant industry contribution. We set our teams and relationships accordingly. There's a lot to learn and a lot to do, and the support I receive from my wife and family, friends and colleagues is incredible."
