Barry John is former a Welsh soldier from Pembrokeshire and artist that was in the Army for over 23 years.
He has been a professional painter for over 12 of those, mixing a busy Military career with the Royal Welsh and an art career has been difficult but he has exhibited in many shows, has paintings in museums and various private collections and in the past two years has sold to celebrities and a variety of sports stars.
He is now represented by three galleries nationwide and has used his military experience to help others and has taken art therapy sessions for soldiers and veterans before being awarded his MBE by the queen in 2010.
In 2012 he won the Templar arts award and exhibited in the Mall alongside Prince Charles receiving his prize from the secretary of defense.
He has since pioneered his own community arts studio in Pembrokeshire called The VC Gallery, helping soldiers, veterans and the community through art engagement.
