Chithra hails from a family of musicians and with a rich musical lineage.
She started her musical career under her mother Smt.Susila Seetharaman, a senior Carnatic vocalist and later came under the tutelage of several renowned Gurus in the Classical Music and Dance
She has performed extensively in India, Middle-East and in the United Kingdom. She has featured in South Indian premier television channels, performed at All India Radio as a youth artist. And in the UK, given several live concerts at prestigious venues across and, like in India, also featured in TV and Radio shows.

As a highly acclaimed dancer,she has had her basic and advanced training in the Vazhuvoor stye and has performed in several leading dance and music festivals in India and overseas.
Her desire to propagate the rich South Indian art forms globally, led her to start Shruthi UK, a nonprofit organisation, now based in Birmingham,U.K.

The workshops involve community participation and community cohesion in addition to encouraging singing, synchronicity and working together as a team.
The workshops are targeted primarily towards children and young adults and also the older people and other music enthusiasts.
